Coupled with the fact that little or nothing is known about this hermit state of North Korea; here might be the kind of war the world might experience if North Korea declares war
Well, first of all; the war would be extremely short and extremely deadly.
Despite having one of the largest militaries in the world, the North Koreans have only 2 real cards up their sleeves; that is their numerous nuclear weapons and thousand of rockets and artillery aimed at Seoul, South Korea.
According to the United States Military analysts; they stated that North Korea's hardware is about 40 years out of date and increasingly worn out and useless.
That's to say the North Korean military still uses biplanes for goodness sake. North Korea's enemy, South Korea has a massive, modern military that has been heavily armed by the United States of America as well as it's own industrial base.
To some military analysts; they stated that North Korea would last 5 minutes in a conventional war with South Korea and the United States.
Therefore all North Korea can really count on is making any military aggression or attack far more costly than what it worths.
Despite it's ( North Korea) boasting, North Korea dosen't have or need the capability to hit the United States of America; as it's missiles can go as far as hitting Japan.
A nuclear bomb exploding in a crowded city like Japan's Tokyo or Fukuoka would kill hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, and it would also cripple the 3rd largest economy on Earth. If simultaneous with a massive conventional strike on South Korea (another major industrial city) would also affect the world's economy.
But if North Korea ever happens to declare war; and launch nuclear weapons on countries that has an economical impact on the world; the United States of America may decided to retaliate by wiping of North Korea from the surface of the earth.
Furthermore, given North Korea's bad attitude and recent threats towards China ( it's only ally) there's a good chance that the Chinese government would not intervene on their behalf.
