The leaders of the cattle breeders association, generally called Miyetti Allah
have sincerely expressed their concern over the attitude of the Igbos towards the herdsmen.
They said in their statement " We have many times met with different traditional rulers in Igbo land and one time the Governors in South east pleading that they should give us part of their lands to rear our cattle but all our efforts were rendered useless"
This refusal of the Igbos to give us their lands affected our cattle production last year and made some of our cows to be starved to death especially in Nasarawa state. We want the igbos to note that the grazing law has been enforced since last Year but they prove to be stubborn. There is nothing you can do about it again and by refusing to give us your land will attract inversion of your lands byforce because you are not abiding by the law of the Country.
Many times we have tried to take over Ebonyi state, but they attacked us and killed many of our cows.
It is time to revenge on this before or during the election period when many soldiers will be deployed to south east and south-south to ensure peaceful election. It's only that time that we will have their full support to get what we want.
They also said that "it's well known to everyone that Igbos are the problems we are facing in this country not the northerners as they have been claiming. They prove to be stubborn in everything they do and do not follow the instructions of the law and this is the time to show them what we are made of, and even the federal government cannot stop us this time.
